Prokit Design
Cad design allows us to develop and refine each model before it ever goes into construction.
A practical approach to the design by Jason Elvines after a combination of MANY long hours spent on the computer and on the water analysis developing a standardised Aluminium hull design elements. This no compromise, thorough approach to the design has achieved well balanced soft riding boats.
With Jason on the floor building boats for a number of years and input from staff members with boat building backgrounds means they have been able to pull together and hone their manufacturing techniques and strength qualities of every hull we design/produce.
Hull framing
Integral hull framing system created by Jason using CNC cut interlocking full depth full length frames creating a rigid dependable system adopted throughout DNA's and Prokits alloy boat range. This construction method has helped streamline our companies manufacturing process where cumbersome skeletal jigs have become a thing of the past.
Prokits hull framing makes a much stronger hull design than the old frame and stringer technique, Extrusion is a much softer temper due to its manufacturing process which is why our method of framing using pressed up frames from 5083 marine grade plate is a much stronger option.
Pontoon design
Prokit Pontoon designs are unique in that they taper towards the bow, a difficult feature to manufacture but made easier with computer design, a feature Jason says makes them a smarter boat as the pontoons toward the front remain out of the water at rest and serve no purpose other than to provide flotation if swamped, however the tapered pontoons are still designed to retain sufficient reserve buoyancy.
This also enables a smoother, more comfortable ride due to not having a large bulky mass trying to punch through the waves, also creating a sleeker more streamlined appearance.
Pontoons are divided into individual air tight chambers as well as sealed tread plate floors, Making them virtually unsinkable.
Power options
Prokit's kitset boat range can be powered by a number of different options,
Single outboard
Twin Outboard
Petrol or diesel inboard stern drive
Jet
We can design any kitset to take your preference of engine, as well as supply a motor package as part of the kit.
